Overview
The Invisible Itch podcast is an intentional anomaly. Publishing infrequently it is a podcast that deliberately holds out for the best guests with the most unique stories to tell, rather than publishing every week or month with whoever happens to be around.
Pre-production
An offshoot from the team that launched the No Spoiler Reviews podcast, the Invisible Itch is an interview podcast that in their words “looks to get under the skin of modern life”. As such creating the totem logo for the podcast was the first step in defining the podcast’s identity together with a word association game that sums up listeners impressions.
Production / Post Production
Again recording at one of the hosts’s apartments, we sound-treated the recording environment for each episode and recorded individually on high-quality microphones. Later, all of the tracks were cut together in Fairlight where it was mixed and mastered for later distribution through Apple, Amazon, Google, Spotify and all the other main podcasting channels.
Promotion
Learning lessons from the social media campaign for No Spoiler Reviews podcast, it was decided to repeat the same ticker-tape transcriptions of key passages from the podcast’s episodes. The advantage of this is that if a listener is looking at the video where they’ve had to mute the audio, they will still be drawn into the conversation. On the flip side, if they have the audio turned on, then they can hear the sound of the production quality, which might further persuade to download or stream the show.
